Amphibians Hidden Images Review (eduxtive)

The website eduxtive is an awesome site offering free, online, streaming games with an educational twist. These games are fun, wholesome, family friendly entertainment kids of all ages can enjoy! While the games are undeniably fun, they are also highly valuable from an educational standpoint, so parents and teachers alike can appreciate the nature of these fun streaming properties.

Amphibians Hidden Images is one such game offered on this awesome website. This game harkens back to the "I Spy" series of books, a classic staple in reading for anyone who grew up in the 80's and 90's, and en even more classic staple for the years and years the game was played verbally between parents and their children. The possibilities with the internet are certainly an upgrade from the hard-cover books of old, although the interactivity of verbal I-Spy, in a carefully chosen outdoors spot, is yet to be trumped. The interactivity afforded with a mouse is quite a notable evolution in this 'genre' of gaming from the hard cover book days, however.

One will notice the focus with Amphibians Hidden Images is on patterns and textures. You aren't looking for a fly on the frogs back, for example. You aren't looking for a lily pad in the background. What you seek out are various, zoomed in portions of the image. There are four options to choose from, as noted at the top of the screen. Once you click the correct portion of the picture, new patterns / textures emerge.

The image is zoomed in to a fair degree, and this causes considerable stretching. While the game is good to train the eyes for pattern and texture recognition, it really should offer a higher quality image - once could argue that things are zoomed in so close, it is more difficult to find the image portions due to the image itself being stretched to the point of distortion than a lack of pattern or texture recognition skills.

In any case this game is a fun time-killer which helps kids with reflexes and hand-eye-coordination. The website itself is a treasure trove of games, waiting to be played!
